This part where it looks like it's loading, is the phase where it connects to your HD device to try and save or acquire any settings currently on the device itself. If you're having problems during this part, the usual culprit is if the programming cable (cable wire that attaches to the iHEAR USB Device, red and green “pill” at the ends) is not connected properly to the HDs.
What I would suggest is to remove then re-attach all the components, from the programming cable (USB 3.0 Micro-B - the odd shaped USB / red and green “colored cable” at the ends) to the HDs, to make sure they all connect properly.
Make sure to lock the connection by pinching hard on it to snap it in place. There's 2 latches near the bottom of your device, where the programming pill (and batteries) hook on to. It has to be snapped down completely to be sure it connects properly.
Please go through the steps below to ensure a good connection.
- Disconnect the programming cable from the iHear HDs and the iHear USB.
- Disconnect the iHear USB from your computer.
- Plug the iHear USB into the computer first.
- Ensure that the USB component is snugly fit in the USB port. Not all ports are the same and some may hold onto USB devices much more securely. If you can jiggle the device, look for another port to connect your device to. (tip: most PCs with USB ports in front and back of the tower tend to have USBs that hold on more securely located toward the front). USB devices in general work in conjunction with your computer and its hardware. Some USB devices may not work right away (these things actually install drivers to your computer), so it's just a matter of plugging them in again or on another port.
- Plug the programming cable connector end (USB 3.0 Micro-B / the odd shaped USB), into the iHear USB (rectangular iHear device).
- Remove the comfort tip from the HD device before trying to reattach the programming cable to the device. Once the comfort tip is removed you should be able to see a white dot on the device that will align with the red and green tabs on the programming cable.
Now insert the cable end, into the device, nose down. Align the components before applying force. Once components aligned, push the programming cable into the device until you receive tactile feedback or can no longer push it in.
This step requires a bit of finesse and can be a bit hard to snap in. Don’t be afraid to press hard on it to ensure it latches correctly for a snug fit. This is the same for when inserting the batteries as well (will need to be snapped on to the second latch on your hearing aid device).
After making sure all components are attached properly, go through the tuning process once more. If you currently have the Tuner open, please close and restart the software first.
For this troubleshooting, you may want to go through and test one side only ( attach Left Ear Only or Right Ear Only ) If it works or if it doesn't, then do the other side. This will help isolate connections.
