If you’re getting this error, "Unable to communicate with iHear Medical Servers", this typically indicates that the program is having issues connecting to our servers (congestion isn't usually an issue since not a lot of users stay logged in, but instead, this normally happens due to a connection loss or firewall blocking the connection on your computer). A workaround is to rename the "maintenancetool" file, to bypass the update check. Please note that, while you will have access to the software, this is not an optimal solution; only confirms that something on your computer is blocking connections to our update check.
On a Windows:
- Got to the iheartest folder (typically found under C:\ihear). Click on the Start menu and locate “This PC” or “File Explorer”. You can then follow and locate the folder, C:\ihear\iheartest
- Locate the maintenancetool file
- Rename it. Example: maintenancetool-old
- Run the iheartest
On a MAC:
- Go to the iheartest folder (typically found under /Applications/ihear – You can find this from your Finder)
- Locate the maintenancetool file
- Rename it. Example: maintenancetool-old
- Run the iheartest
