Check ears for wax build up
Excess wax may contribute to this feedback. American Academy of Otolaryngology has suggestions for cleaning here: http://www.entnet.org/content/earwax-and-care
Ensure that you are using the correct Comfort Tip size.
You may be using an incorrect Comfort Tip size. A Tip that is too small will allow amplified sound to re-enter the device microphone and cause feedback. A Tip this is too large will prevent you from inserting the device properly into the ear canal, thus allowing amplified sound to enter the microphone.
A properly sized Tip should effectively block ambient sound, similar to plugging your ear with an earplug. It should be tight but comfortable.
Reposition the device for improved fitting inside your ear.
Remove and reinsert the device at a different angle. Your unique anatomy will determine whether you need to aim the plug towards your nose, upwards, downward, etc. If you're having trouble determining which angle your canal naturally curves toward, recruit or ask a health care provider to shine a light into your ear canal to see. Users have found that pulling the ear flap (or pinna) back helps with insertion. Wiggling your jaw to open the ear canal will often help with insertion.
Reprogram your device.
Users may attempt to increase the clarity for specific frequencies in an effort to increase their hearing. Use the iHTuner to reduce the clarity for frequencies and voices that have been cranked up.
You may also want to focus on the bird chirp sound during the tuning process. What we usually advise our users is, if you're having a hard time hearing the bird chirp, do not increase the volume; Instead turn it down to the lowest setting, which is 1. This should prevent any unnecessary feedback being caused by that particular frequency.
If you find that reducing the clarity of these voices significantly impacts the amplification that the iHear HD provides, you may require a more robust device.
