There are 4 sound profiles accessible on the iHear HD. You can switch between sound profiles using the magnet included in your iHear toolkit. Each sound profile emits specific feedback to confirm.
Profile 1 -- Default
Sound: 1 beep
This is the default mode set when you run iHTuner. The iHear HD will default to Profile 1 every time the HD powers on. Profile 1 will be your most commonly used setting, the other 3 are for situations where enhanced amplification profiles are needed.
Profile 2 -- Volume down
Sound: 2 beeps
Volume decreases across all frequencies. This is useful to temporarily decrease the amount of amplification in noisy environments. This profile cuts and decreases everything relative to the main mode by 6db. On the MAX, the telecoil is turned on.
Profile 3 -- Speech enhancement
Sound: 3 beeps
This is a low frequency profile designed to emphasize the frequencies critical for hearing and human speech. This is to further help you understand people in noisy environments. 12 db cut in band 1, 6db cut in band 2 designed to enhance speech clarity.
Profile 4 -- Volume up
Sound: 4 beeps
Volume increases across all frequencies. This is useful to temporarily increase the amount of amplification of the iHear HD in quiet environments. Boosts everything relative to the main mode by 4dB on the HD, 6dB on the MAX
If you find that yourself using this sound profile often, consult an audiologist. Your hearing may have changed or may require another means of amplification altogether.
